I haven't really done modding for DST (mostly just DS), but I really love wilba as well!

I would suggest that you start by looking at how custom characters are made in DST (maybe by downloading someone's custom character and looking at their code or reading a guide) and then look at wilba's code and try to make some sort of a merge of the two.

I know that you can port assets pretty easily from DST to DS, but I'm not sure if it's as easy doing it in reverse (hopefully someone else here can provide more insight). Anything can be done with enough patience and time - but it might not be the easiest task for a complete beginner to modding.
