Slightquills
Given that creatures and plants are only available to the printing pod if you have encountered them before it would be really cool to have a variety of animal and plant systems that are vastly different because not all animals or plants exist in the same seed. Right now several variants of the same species are used to create the variety. -More varieties of creatures and plants -Variation in what creatures and plants are available in a seed In addition it would be interesting to have variety (or produce resources in an un predictable way such as being mixed and / or occur at different time intervals like geysers) to the way those animals process / refine materials to allow the breeding of more efficient critters that produce predictable resources instead of unpredictable ones. -Variation in creature and plant processing (including mixed materials output, mass variation in inputs and outputs, and duration of input, output and processing, resistance to radiation, temperature range, ect;) -Creature breeding (similar to the mutation system, but rather then having a modifier have it alter the base effects as above) Limits would still be necessary of course otherwise the player could just breed everything for the same conditions and that would reduce challenge. Padishar
I honestly would like a couple more acquatic plants or critters. The terrestrial one are already enough imo.
Slightquills
More plants that need to be submerged in liquids would be a great start, and sounds really cool. Managing a plant in polluted water, for instance, would be an added layer of challenge. Maybe something like a lotus, kelp or sea grass. Maybe even something more reef-like. In terms of animals; bi-valves, tube worms, osedax worms, or sea anemone.
