Wonderlarr
I think a dedicated documentation section, separate or inside the already existing Tutorials section, would be a nice easy improvement to this forum. Documentation, like the list of engine functions, can be a frequently used a reused post that doesn't receive many comments, so it can easily get buried. I think a dedicated section would be nice for other static documentation posts like that, and also open the gates for any other documentation people would like to provide themselves. 1
hhh2
There have been attempts at something similar in the past. It never turns out good. Our community is too small to be able to originize something like that.

I've seen the various efforts at a DST modding api wiki, etc, and I've seen them fail. Edited June 4, 2022 by TheSkylarr

You know how Gmod has their own dedicated modding wiki, that's what DS needs.
Leonidas IV
These days I was thinking about creating a repository so that everyone could create their pull requests and add new documentation. So we could have the organization by folders, documentation in markdown files and directly in a copy of the game files.

We'd definitely need Klei's permission for that, but that's not a bad idea at all, probably the most maintainable option if we can do it.

The code is "public", no? It's not exactly open-source... But it's good to ask the devs anyway.

It IS open to viewing, yes, but it is still their intellectual property. Unless Klei says otherwise, be it through a license, direct permission, or otherwise, we probably shouldn't go reuploading their stuff on GitHub or anything else besides the workshop. That said, @zarklord_klei, thoughts?
