Steam Deck - DST in Desktop Mode

So I have a quick question for someone that has a steam deck or one of the devs. 

I got my steam deck now and I wanted also to use it to play DST with my wife by using the steam deck as a pc. I use a USB-C dock and run the linux desktop mode which works really good. I can also play all of my games with mouse and keyboard just fine, all but DST^^ 

I can't get DST zu use any other input method than "steam deck". It says also in the options as input method "steam deck" and it's greyed out, so you can't change it. Does someone know how I can force DST to not run in "steam deck" mode? Would be really sad and lost potential if there is no way for this.
