Suggestions for improving gamepad play

Recommended Posts

Recently I got a joystick and I would like to offer a couple of ideas that are very lacking, as well as a couple of comments.
First of all: I don't have an xbox gamepad, so the game shows a text name instead of icons, it's not very convenient, so I went looking for a mod that can make them like in ps. but all I managed to find was a replacement for the xbox, which also did not work, but thanks According to the comments, it worked, and by changing the code a little, I made a version for all cases and uploaded it to Steam, maybe someone will come in handy.

and now for the comments: when I first connected, I had a very strange setting for moving in the inventory

had to manually change

for the mouse it is possible to change the skin using the mouse wheel, then why is there no such function for the joystick, for example, the up button?

I don't see the need for these buttons...

I suggest instead using these buttons to change the set when the menu is open

I can only rotate the camera when I open the map, so why not make it possible to use these buttons to change the current filter without having to press the button to open it?

thereby leaving the right stick only for navigating recipes

My suggestion for improving gamepad play:

Just redo it completely.

I realize that adapting this game for controller play was probably a pretty tall task, but it's pretty clunky in some ways I just don't think it needs to be. Take a page from FFXIV and their controller support. It's not perfect but they have some really good ideas with using shoulder triggers to expand the range of actions you can get out of just the face buttons.
