I want to discuss. Why not?

i think RNG for the sake of RNG is bad game design, if you wanted to do this add a damage threshold that they can take within a time period. This way it doesn't feel bad when someone loses 3 upgrades after taking 3 hits

Ok, what about change durability of it. Let's circuits lose durability after attack if you not wearing body armour.

And NOT drop after taking them out?

It's stimulate players use body armour and make changing circuits less punishing.

i think its just outright better if you wanted some form of downside for him to tie it to your hp bar the lower your hp the less effective your circuit slots are from the damage your body has taken, this could either disable the module or cause some "instabilities" like the speed upgrade slowing you down at times. Simulating some hardware errors that could come with damage, simply healing yourself will return them to fully working order.

Yeah, it's sounds more solid...

Similar to Wagstaff distortion effect, but with actually impact to gameplay

I think this could also have some interesting effects when giving circuits some alt paths for instance a faulty health module could reduce your maximum hp but give you increased healing effectiveness, these faulty modules could be kept faulty with a new item or something, this way it opens up more choices for powerful upgrades that have downsides, or don't and just add the faulty modules as separate items and keep them just getting worse when he is hurt
