Is the Starter Asteroid Displacement in Moonlet Clusters intentional?

As life goes on in the diseased hovel, I come to realize that the starmap appears to be centered around the badlands oil asteroid, rather than the radioactive forest that I started on and that all of my duplicants call home. Is this intentional, or am I supposed to start in the middle no matter what?

I would say that's intentional in moonlet start.

I myself prefer not to start in the middle of the map because I don't like to build every base in the same shape. That's why every time I choose to start at alternate pod location.

Yes the location is a little random, but most of the moonlet starts are explicitly placed non-centered. They seem to have the same general layout no matter which one you start on, with badlands always near the center (so if you start on that it'll be approximately centered, but not any of the others).

I quite like the non-centered distribution. I feel like it adds a bit of flavour to the starmap.
