How to Nerf the Flower Pot Exploit Easily

Recommended Posts

The exploit is that a Pip can be used to plant a seed in Flower Pot that's been entombed inside a natural tile, easily done with falling sand.  Once the Pip has planted the seed the exploit can then easily be reproduced in other Flower Pots through the use of copy settings. This allows plants not normally plantable in Flower Pots to be grown in them, they will be plants that grow at the domesticated rate and require no solid fertilizer. (Any required irrigation must be delivered by duplicants.)  This allows for extremely easy infinite food when used with Mealwood, Dusk Caps or Grubfruit and easy free cooling with Wheezeworts.

Just make it so a plant planted in a Flower Pot is wild instead of domesticated.

This wouldn't affect non-exploit usage or the Flower Pot since it matters not whether a decor plant is wild or not.

The exploit would still be useful as an alternative to using natural tiles and could stay in the game indefinitely.

Or leave it as is, I don't mind. :P

I would rather see the Flower Pot exploit nerfed so that Mealwood, Grubfruit & Dusk Caps planted this way were wild rather than domesticated, rather than have the nerf destroyed entirely.

In it's current form, it is just too over-powered, in my opinion.

However if it stayed as I suggest it would just be a niche utility exploit, powerful but not grossly overpowered as it is now.  It would just offer another option over conventional natural tile farms.  Planting natural tile farms is a pain in the arse and once a player has done it, it'd be nice to have an exploit to dodge that workload.

I thought I had come up with an easy solution that might only involve flipping one thing in the code, but the Nature Reserve problem kills that idea.
