QoL changes I'd like to see

Since October is right around the corner, the devs most likely have already chosen what will be changed for the QoL update so those requests are more or less for future QoL updates.

  • A way to get rid of excessive twigs, rot, poop and rotten eggs that litter the world. Maybe a moleworm-like mobs that consume those items. Maybe just a delete timer when they're on the ground. Grass and twigs produced by the Waterlogged biome should also disappear overtime.
  • Fix meteor fields being much larger than turf indicates
  • Fix Birchnutters' attack range being too big
  • When pumpkin lantern runs out it leaves behind fireflies. Currently the fireflies are deleted along with the pumpkin, unless you destroy it prematurely
  • Remove critters' hungry screaming. Keep the ability to feed them but remove them being hungry
  • Fix mobs' AI so that they recognize walls and structures and actually walk around them. Currently mobs only move in a straight line, if there happens to be an object there they'll continue walking into it
  • Add a new way to kill MacTusk and fix the 'will walk home after being too far away' thing. Perhaps make MacTusk kite the player by stopping to attack and then running. Would give mutiple people a way to stunlock him. And add some sort of bear trap item that the players could setup and chase Mac Tusk into
  • Add new sprites, animations and interactions between mobs and environment
  • Ability to pause 'Alone' worlds
  • Fix Beefalo's AI when in heat. If you lure a Beefalo away from the herd its AIs battle for dominance: one tells it to return to herd, the other tells it to be aggressive because of it being in heat and the third one tells it to engage in combat because it was just attacked by us. The Beefalo ends up walking away to the herd unless the player is within its attack range. Even if they just hit it the Beefalo will ignore the player once they are out of its attack range
  • Give Pearl an ability to actually catch fish and dry them. She is a cool NPC but once you fix her island you can see that her AI is kind of stinky. Her voice lines can be 'sped up' if for example she stars her whole rant about fish not biting but it suddently becomes dusk she'll quickly go through the rest of those lines. She doesn't harvest her own bee box and she doesn't recognize kelp, farm plots, figs or stone fruit bushes as something she could harvest
  • Fix befirendable mobs becoming lost once they unbound from the player and are away from their house. Make them teleport there once off screen.
  • Fix Tallbirds murdering their young. Rework them so that they actually raise and feed their young and once the Teenbird grows up it despawns in the summer.
  • Fix Rock Lobsters. Currently they can be put into a coma. They'll sleep forever untill they're attacked. Every lobster needs to be attacked individually. Tbh this is probably a bug rather than anything else.
  • Make Tumbleweeds despawn. Currently they can wander off from the desert and become stuck on an ocean border 2 biomes away.
  • Make Grass Gators consider Above Average Trees as their home. They won't wander away from them.
