Making custom character unlockable

Hello Friends, I've been trying to add a unlockable character to my mod (Grunt) and I found a way by using this line of code

table.insert(GLOBAL.PORKLAND_CHARACTERLIST, character)

it works but the select screen portraits won't work.

So I've been stuck trying for days, the custom character select screen portraits only work if I use AddModCharacter
