Dupes finish current task when shift changes

I'd love an option that would make dupes finish their current task when their work shift ends. I usually have some slack built into the schedules, so arriving late to dinner is fine, but abandoning a distant task or dropping carried items down a long ladder/firepole column is not.

Ideally it would be customizable, with a slider to specify how much extra time they're willing to spend. For example, I might set it so that if the remaining task will be done in another 10 seconds, they'll finish it, but otherwise they'll go on break immediately. Players who prefer the current system would just leave the slider at the default value of zero seconds.
