Thank you for making the previous stable build available

Recommended Posts

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but... I don't often get the time to play, and I especially not a lot. I'll binge it for 50+ hours for a week or two during my summer leave once a year, and then I'll coast around with 5-10 hours of gameplay on an occasional good week.

When the merge update came out, it seemed like my savegame would go to the unfinished playthrough graveyard once again - I was half into a couple of finnicky projects and did not have the time to jump and fix my kitchen when the update was announced. Not quite what I was expecting out of a single-player game that's long been out of early access.

So thank you so much for making the old stable build available. I finally got some time off this month and could get some playtime in. It gave me time to finish the ongoing projects and update my kitchen and dining area, before switching to the merged build. I still accidentally liquified the chlorine and lost some of the food, but at least I could prepare in peace and not in two-hour sessions weeks apart.

I'm still not quite sure where I stand on the whole idea of updating the mechanics of a single-player game that's been out for a while. It was expected during early access (and what a ride that was when I had time to hop on for a while), but the reason I switched to single-player games is that I can fit them to my own schedule and that they can wait for months if I don't have the time. But hopefully this is finally the playthrough where I reach the temporal tear (my farthest playthrough so far I was just starting with petroleum rockets when automation ports appeared everywhere and broke my closed and temperature sensitive builds...). I ended up updating to the new build as there was no indication of how long the previous one would've been available, but I would've been tempted to finish the playthrough with "oldschool" mechanics if I knew the build would stay available.

And now that I'm on a stable version, I might even open some bug reports about how slicksters seem to lack all the self-preservation instincts that all other critters have...
