CarlOtto
It would be wonderful to have an option to construct a object in place of another. Having to deconstruct and then place the new object usually means then object will be missing for some time, and ends up requiring a lot of attention from the player... unless you just don't care about giant downtime. I have also noticed that in newer versions of ONI that I can not place objects anywhere other than 'easy dig' locations. It will never be constructed. I have to cancel the construction, dig out the area, and then place the object... Seems broken. The issue here is that the tile on which you are building still needs to be digged but the task generated is not a dig task but a build task. If your digger has low priority in build then he won`t be interested in digging that one and if your build dupes lack the digging skill it will remain stuck like that. Having your dupes have both the build and dig skills should fix that. As for the original issue some buildings can be build on top of other. Different tile types, pipes, wires, ladders. But only 1x1 buildings. Bridges or airlocks can`t and it would be useful if they could be build like that. Anyway giant downtimes can be avoided by having multiple build specialized dupes and resources avaialable nearby.
