2 questions about dedicated servers

Recommended Posts

1. Depends on your setup. Linux would be relatively easy, just give them an account that is allowed to start the DST server, and open up SSH traffic through your firewall/router.

On Windows it would be a bit more tricky, I guess either something like remote powershell or RDP would work.

Alternatively for both setups, someone wrote a discord thingy that allows discord to control the server:

2. There are usually no practical usable free servers out there. Amazon had a free one once, with like 500mb ram and 0.5Ghz CPU, which was unusable for DST. (Cause you know, companies don't wanna invest money into infrastructure and electricity just to gift it away.)

I have no experiences in any hosting companies, but netcup has some pretty cheap entry servers, and decent reviews.
