Dear Klei, It is about 2 year when you add mod support (steam workshop support). And I must say ,  it really Suck.I am one of modders. (Not too good, not too popular.). When I do mod support, it is mostly about "Hey your mod crashing". Sadly it is not about my mod crashing, it is about game downloading previous version of mod, and this old version (obviously) crashing.

Ok, I can Imagine some DoGooders(Sheep!!! And SharraShimada is their leader) from this forum will say: "Hey it is not Klei fault. There is problem at Steam side". (Ahh clasic ping-pong, It is not our fault,it is their fault). Well It is probably even true. So convince Steam to fix problem. And Steam will probably ignore you . No matter , YOUR Game work badly, so it is your problem. And Btw there is already mod which can solve this : (I rather provide link for you, becouse after 2 years of mod support my expectation is really low : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2018291283). I am using this mod since Peter Han release it, and it is very goood! If modders can solve this you can TOO!
