But what about other shadow creatures? Wavy Johnes for example looks more like a human. I've made this thread to see what y'all think. My headcanons: Shadow Pieces are the minions of Them that were used to communicate with the material world. After all they're the ones tasked with keeping the King's mind. Plus it'd explain why did Ancients decide to built clockworks the way they are. Shadow Watchers are Their eyes.
