Deconstructable POI buildings and research databanks

Data banks now don't have a use. I know you get like 3 of them from a satellite on one of the asteroids. What if these data banks were the journal entries you get at the moment for clicking to inspect a building? Duplicants would then inspect individual data banks at a super computer or virtual planetarium and you could get the entries in your log. Then deconstructing certain POI buildings won't mess with the placement and you still get journal entry information. May be some research could be hidden in some data banks as well so you can do get some research done without wasting dirt and water?
