emo_noodles101 Posted September 15, 2020 Share Posted September 15, 2020 The last updates featuring ocean mechanics, and even a new terrain is absolutely AMAZING! But now that the moon and ocean have updates, what about the caves? Honestly, in my opinion the last two bosses released in QOL updates for the ocean were a FLOP. Fighting Malbatross and Eugene Krabs (Crab King) is fun! Don't get me wrong. But it's the rewards/loot that sucks. Malbatross feathers and beak are quite useful, but Crab King loot is kind of... :/ A few things I'd like to see in the caves would definitely be new set pieces, a few changes to the ruins and maybe even a new boss! I mean, we got new land AND ocean bosses. New mobs (passive or aggressive) would be awesome too. And I would LOVE to see some sort of interaction with Charlie other than dying to her asmr snarls in the dark. I mean, wouldn't it only make sense since we were able to interact with Maxwell in DS/Adventure mode? Another thing I was thinking about since there's Treeguards, maybe when you chop down Lunar Trees... There's a chance for something like an evil moon moth to spawn! Let me explain how they would work. They would have the same stats as Killer Bees when it comes to health and damage. They would have a 10% of spawning (more or less depending on what you guys think) and they will appear in swarms of 3-5. When killed, they have a 30% chance of dropping evil petals! I think this would add a little bit of spice to Lunar Island exploration/foraging. It could also be a nice way to get evil petals more easily since the only ways to get them are, tumbleweeds, finding them at set pieces, Living Trees and haunting normal flowers. I would like a Caves update as any other person, but this update series is about the ocean and is lunar themed. And i'd rather they stick to updating and fleshing out the ocean before touching the caves again. And to be honest, I kinda don't wanna see another boss for the caves yet. The caves didn't really get anything besides ruins changes and bosses, i'd like to see biomes be fleshed out a little more, new biomes and so on. And yes I understand that the development team is focusing on Lunar/Ocean stuff. I just meant for AFTER they're done with this update series. You're right, cave biomes deserve some makeovers too! If you don't mind, I'd love to hear your ideas on how the cave biomes can be more interesting? And if you have any ideas about new mobs for Lunar Island or caves, add that in!
