Backup and Restore dst server

can someone help me understand how the dst server work ..
1. if i host a server, and other players join in and play .  when i shut down and restart my pc, can we continue playing where we left ?
 2. how to backup and restore the dst server state? in case i need to continue hosting using different pc?

Yes, you can continue where you left off (aka when you shutdown the server).

For backups, go to the following directory: Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\[maybe a folder with a bunch of numbers].

You should see a bunch of folders with the word Cluster in front of them. Those contain the saves files that correspond to the save slot in the game. Copying those can serve as your backup. 

If you need to move to another pc, I recommend just copying the entire DoNotStarveTogether folder and moving it to your other machine in the same directory as before. It just makes your life easier.

For restoring worlds, normally just replacing the master and caves folder within the cluster folders should work, but in my experience, its always tricky to do.

If someone has a better way to restore a world via a backup, please feel free to share.
