There is 4kw tranformer but there is no 4kw wire

Except that the wire actually can carry the full 4kw when it is charging a battery.  Also there is a one or two second forgiveness window where you can overload the wire without damage.

I know but the question here why 4kW and not 2kW or 20kW. Your argument is actually more sound for a 20kW transformer. It would be able to charge batteries even faster.
The point is that wires and transformers are upgradeable... which not common in ONI. From a 1kw wire you have 2 upgrade o

ptions, conductive (2kW) or heavy (20kW). Heavy can be upgraded further to heavy conductive. The most logical thing would be to upgrade from from 1kW transformer to either 2kW or 20kW. It's the lack of consistency/simmetry that buggers me.

Or you can use a memory toggle to make sure that between two pumps, only one of them is allowed to run at a time.

Yes but you have to run an automation line between the two. And try to do the same with 9 pumps, 3 tier-1 pumps, 3 tier-2, 3 tier-3. Automation gets messy.
