Wumpus the 19th
In Sal's campaign, day 5's boss fight, Kashio, is set in an auction that provides the player and Kashio with items and grafts needed to rip out each other's jugulars. In light of this, i made this post as to catalog the catalog of items you can get to aid in the fight. Some preface for how these items work: There is a pool of 9 11 overpowered items(6 grafts, 5 cards) that the game has for the auction. every time the player reaches the items, 5 are chosen are random, 3 cards and 2 grafts, to be used in in this run's kashio fight. Impressing your benefactor provides one free item from the pool. a second item can be obtained from doing the negotiation. At a maximum, Sal gets 2 items, and at a minimum, Kashio gets 3. as i have seen, It's not what Sal has, it's what Kashio has, as she takes every item the player doesn't take from the pool. how i've formatted this is i give Sal benefit, Kashio Benefit, then my opinion if applicable Blast Chamber (graft) Sal: Gain one extra action every turn Kashio: Gains one extra attack every turn My opinion: HOLY HESH. the most influential item that can spawn. one free action every turn can save the player from death, pull off large combos, etc. Alternatively, Kashio just gains double DPS if you let her have it. A MUST TAKE IF IT COMES UP. Sage Conversion (graft) Sal: at the start of combat, gain max health and heal equal to current resolve Kashio: Gains 80 max HP My opinion: Given how Kashio has a natural vendetta against Sal, this can give you the boost in health to needed to rival her in strength. If you have a fast damage deck that can quickly whittle away at Kashio's health, especially with some of the other items, this can be passed up. otherwise this is the second best graft. Macro Rasp (graft) Sal: Whenever you deal bleed, deal 1 damage Kashio: When Kashio deals unmitigated damage, apply 1 bleed My opinion: A massive boon for Bleed decks, which can be fun in play and this can make the deck good enough to beat Kashio. unless you are terrible at blocking every attack, which is not something unheard of since she is crazy strong, it can be a build up of damage against the player that can be mitigated by sage conversion. Good for bleed, not much else. Burner Gloves (graft) Sal: All attacks deal 1 burn Kashio: When Kashio deal unmitigated damage, apply 4 burn My opinion: The suitcase grenades of grafts. on one hand, burn can dispel clones (though only after the fact) but it can also deal some splash onto the spark automech. alternatively, Kashio can slowly kill any drones you have due to the splash damage of burn. Good against the beacon, but not by much. extra damage overall. Hammerthyst Ring Sal: gain 2 defense per card in your hand Kashio: every turn gains 10 defense My opinion: This can be good with overdraw decks where you're constantly hitting the hand limit of 10 cards, as that is a major help against the average 20 damage attacks Kahsio is putting out. Kashio can be dealt with if she gets so much defense, but it can slow the fight in her favor. Piercing and high damage, however, can delete the benefit of this from Kashio, and overall this can outclassed by some other items on the list. Dermal Cast Sal: Heal 2 every turn Kashio: Whenever she gives Sal a debuff, heals 5 health My Opinion: This is DANGEROUS in Kashio's hands when she has the two status effect grafts, as she becomes a massive tank against the player. Sal can get some small benefit from this if she has enough defense to protect from attacks enough that the health is allowed to rebuild. Take Mainly if Kashio will also get some Dps increasing items, as she will become impenetrable at that point. (i forgot the pistol one, again, please tell me) Support Beacon (item) Sal: 1 cost, Summon one combat drone. destroy Kashio: on her first turn, summons a spark barons enforcer My opinion: The vendetta can make a combat support drone be a bit easier, much like heated arguments. Kashio is one of the stronger items, as the extra DPS on the enemy side can add up, especially if ignored due to their jet pack. A must take if you don't have strong, 2 target shotgun cards. Rentorian Glaive (item) Sal: 1 cost, 8 damage, apply 6 bleed Kashio: "upgrades" herself, gaining new attacks that deal increased damage My opinion: It is a relatively decent card, and in a small deck with bleed focus, could be very good. despite how scary it seems, i haven't found Kashio's damage to be strong enough to use up one of my items. If you want, it can be useful. Holo-Belt (item) Sal: Play your next card twice. destroy after 2 uses Kashio: After her turn, spawns 4 "clone-shios" (My name for them SHUT UP) (3 clones if she has the enforcer). One clone is "real", and hitting her will despawn all clones. otherwise, each clone crumples upon taking damage and the start of her turn My opinion: Before there was a bug that would make this the single best item to let Kashio have. Now that we have lost the easy clone differentiation, this can be bad if you aren't lucky. Massive shotgun cards / Suitcase grenades / shotgun deck types trivialize this item. otherwise it can waste actions. Suitcase Grenades Sal: 1 cost, 6-8 damage, hits all enemies Kashio: Ends every turn with a grenade toss My opinion: This is the Blast chamber of items, as it can be powerful in the players hands but lord deafeningly strong with Kashio. Grenades are a direct counter to Holo-Belt as well as Support Beacon. Alternatively, Kashio can counter Support beacon since it can deal damage to the drone, killing it quickly as well as dealing high damage to the player. A Strong card in either hands, and a counter for other items. In (my) Summary: Blast chamber is a non-negotiable, in that you cannot chance the negotiation in order to get it. some of the items are in some extremely violent RPS game, with support beacon being either death-defying or killed before it can attack, depending on Kashio's loadout. The cast, beacon, and grenades are like the green properties in monopoly; take them to keep them out of Kashio's hands. holo-belt had a glitch that null'd it's usefullness, and even post patch, most decks should be able to deal with it. Of course, i know i got a little wordy and also realized i shouldn't announce what i want to post (just a bit bitter, i'll get over it). if you want a more concise version, SpicyNiceCream made their own post about this Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/117036-kashios-auction-items/ Share on other sites
