Tolham Posted April 2, 2020 Share Posted April 2, 2020 Just like how liquid and gas pipes have a valve that limits the amount of liquid and gas that flows through the pipes, there should be an equivalent device that limits the wattage that flows through a wire, to prevent power spikes. Muckroot Posted April 3, 2020 Share Posted April 3, 2020 Honestly you can build something that has the same effect. Determine the least important (or spikiest) consumer. Put a shut-off on the wire leading into it, put a watt sensor on the circuit side, shut off the consumer when the watt reaches beyond what you like.
