I've read in some threads that ctr+F4 is the command to enable instant deconstruct if you have debug enabled. It seems that it is doing 2 things in my case: put back the said overlays and also enabling instant deconstruct, so I'm happy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Research at certain points enables some overlays, such as the conveyor and automation. Sandbox does not enable all research, though it does enable all recipes.
