How do I make custom characters?

Hello, I am currently looking for ways to make custom characters for Don't Starve Together. I thought it would be really nice to make some of my favorite characters on there but I'm struggling to find up to date tutorials. I for the most part want to mainly change the character image (artwork), I don't know how to fully change the skills, voice, and everything else. If anyone can link me to any tutorial or simply walk me through the steps I'd be ultra grateful

Since you are a beginner, I would highly recommend reading and following the advice given in the newcomer post, and not skipping the Lua Crash Course linked there. It is imperative that you know what Lua is and how it works, otherwise it might as well be an alien language to you, and you will end up trying to glue pieces of code together with a hammer.

There are no fully up-to-date tutorials, but the Extended Character Template is available. It goes through most of what you need to set up a new character. This is a tutorial for how to create custom sounds for your character. These other posts may be of help, too.
