Problems with airlock designs

Proximity sensors can be used to something like a timeout on the checkpoint. Allow the checkpoint to open when dupes have been inside long enough regardless of air pressure as the alternative is dead dupes. Something like dupes keep getting in and increasing the air pressure, hence blocking the exit for everybody.
