Graphical Improvements: Let's Have Some Eye-Candy!

Recommended Posts

Now, don't get me wrong. I think the game looks downright fantastic with its unique art direction. However, I do have a couple gripes here and there. One is that when you play in full-screen and zoom all the in, everything looks so pixelated. Perhaps some more anti-aliasing could be implemented. Contrarily, when you zoom all the way out, the low-res clouds you see look so very out of place in comparison to the rest of the world. Also, I would just love to see a new shadowing system. Imagine that the light coming out of your campfire at night actually projects shadows when it hits characters and objects in the world in a way that takes the paper cutout-esque aesthetic of the game in full swing. I'm talking flat objects projecting shadows that look like they were actually coming off a paper cutout or something. Anyway, that's all I have. Mind you, these are just the ramblings of a graphics ***** that spent too much money on his computer. You don't have to take me seriously.

The clouds being low res is actually a bug, and should hopefully be fixed soon. As for the shadows, it sounds like a great idea, but I imagine it would be fairly demanding on a lot of people's computers and is probably the kind of thing that would be fairly buggy and would never look as good as imagined. Having said that, I know virtually nothing about computers so please disregard everything I said if I'm wrong.
