more resource variation

Recommended Posts

right know we only have 3 items that have different types of ways to get, and they have only 2 each.

berry bush - juicy berry bush

grass tufts - grass geckos

saplings - twiggy trees

if we could get more variations, perhaps the worlds wouldn't feel the same?

examples:

  • tall grass (instead of grass tufts / grass geckos)
  • fruit trees (instead of berrybushes / juicy berrybushes)
  • potatoes (instead of carrots)
  • more colors of mushrooms (instead of mushrooms of other colors)
  • fruit trees (instead of birch nut trees)
  • big trees that never regrow (no saplings, no pinecones / such, dont regrow because of world regrowth) (instead of lumpy trees)
  • bats (like in hamlet), giant insects / locusts (eats your crops), snakes / works (comes from under you, can spawn everywhere on the screen since they emerges from the ground) (instead of hound attacks (you can still get hounds teeth from hound mounds and vargs)

and if this ever happens, I hope it will be replacements (like berrybushes and juicy berrybushes) instead of stuff that can suddenly spawn in your world (twiggy trees and grass geckos)

I would prefer if the resource variants coexisted with each other similar to how when a world has juicy berry bushes there are still regular berry bushes in groups by ponds. Or twiggy trees than spawn around the world when it's a sapling world. Or at the very least make it possible to choose exactly what type of resource variants end up spawning in the world. I heavily dislike grass geckos and prefer juicy berry bushes but it's annoying having to regenerate a world until I get my preferred variant.

Anyways, some variants that I'd think would be neat are~~

  • Silkworms (spiders)
  • Rats, Gophers or something (Rabbits)
  • Aphids for producing honeydew (Bees)
  • Dande-Lions (Lureplants)
