Server doesn't apply cluster.ini settings

Recommended Posts

Hi, my first post here so I want to say that this game is excellent. Now to my issue. I am trying to set up a dedicated server. Everything seems to work but server doesn't start according to cluster.ini settings:

Settings:

[GAMEPLAY]
game_mode = Endless
max_players = 64
pvp = false
pause_when_empty = true

what I get from server:

[00:00:03]:   MaxPlayers: 64
[00:00:03]:   GameMode: survival
[00:00:03]:   OverridenDNS:
[00:00:03]:   PauseWhenEmpty: false

any help would be appreciated.

Did you place your cluster.ini in the correct folder?

(In the cluster folder, that is defined in the startup script.)

Yes, besides everything else from cluster.ini works. Name etc...

I can't change game mode, i can't make server pause when empty. I have deleted everything and re-installed. I think I"ll give up on this. It ONLY works if you make the server from in-game and not for an actual dedicated server.

WOW... it works....finally.

For future reference: I was using a symbol at server name and cluster.ini was getting corrupted. I run game servers since 2005 and this was a first. I guess you always learn something new. I should say it was not the actual symbol that was causing the problem but me changing format of the file to utf-8 so it could show it.

That is good to know.

Next time it'd prob the best idea to post the entire clister.ini though, because this time noone could've figured that out apart from you having the file.
