I'm at day 335 in one world. Winter is like the year, and the hounds are like the week. Each weekend begins with a hound attack, then you get a week or so to do stuff before you get back for the hound attack on the weekend again. Since I loose track of exact days, I simply go out for a few days directly after each attack, then return.Around day 250, I built up one of my outposts into a full second base on the other side of the world, and it's connected to my main base via a worm hole. If something really bad happens, I can quickly teleport out of one to the other.And I just did get the walking cane around day 290. It's pretty awesome. With that, I hardly need the worm hole between camps. You can flat out run hounds on roads.
