Numennl
It would be so great to have the liquid storage output its current volume with above/below, just like the liquid pipe thermal sensor. That way you can have a liquid shutoff react to a storage tank being empty / full and create nice, controlled fill / refill systems. For instance, now you either have to use a bunch of pumps / vents and use a liquid pressure sensor, or you end up with combining element sensors and memory to create a loop that sort-off provides this function, just poorly. Either ineffective use of power, or sloppy and hard to control. Would make storing the water from those 2 water geysers at a nicely cooled temperature a lot easier. DraconicSiege
You can do this in a way that is more compact than what you are describing. Here is my setup for turning on and off a refinery. The petroleum input comes from the right and hits the liquid storage intake first. If there is room it will always go in. If it is full it will travel along, through the element sensor. and then over to the next storage tank. The reason I have the liquid bridge is to force the liquid through (like a one way valve). The liquid bridge output and the first storage output pass through another element sensor before going into the second tank. The first element sensor tells my system if the first first storage is full, thus turning off my refinery. The second one tells my system if the first storage tank is empty(the signal is not-ed). The output automation signal is connected to my refinery. This whole setup would be simpler if they added an automation output on the tanks like you suggested, but it is not imperative for game play.
