goatt
Look at the destructive red laser Robo-miners shoot, they can done tons of damage. It will make sense that it can kill pufts or shine bugs in the sky for critter control. Or even killing geckos and hatched in stable. It will be useful but not adding a lot of overpowered functionality, and it makes sense. As side effect, critters will try to run away however they can while being attacked. What do people think? Sasza22
Hmm, it`s a mining tool. It`s not designed for killing stuff. Dupes don`t use their mining guns against critters either. I also have a theory based on one of th lore entries that the mining gun is a sort of disintegration ray that removes matter (which would explain losing half the mass while mining). Anyway i`d rather have an auto turret shooting plasma (or whatever the dupe combat gun shoots) that can be programmed to kill a certain critter type and automated to do it based on the room population. But your theory might be right. 4 minutes ago, Sasza22 said: Anyway i`d rather have an auto turret shooting plasma And isn’t that just the same idea? Why not just pack this functionality into the same machine.? I`d prefer the machines to be separate. Just so the robo miner doesn`t randomly vaporize a shove vole or a gassy moo that wanders the wrong way. But that`s just me. goatt
@Sasza22 I didn’t think of auto-kill. I thought of it was a machine gun. But now I think about auto kill, it’s actually complicated to use with current system of automation. Sasza22
Well the robo miner operates on it`s own. No dupes involved. I thought your idea was about an automated critter killer. A specialized machine for killing critters could have a critter type selection and be controlled by a critter sensor. Could be also just set to kill one type of critter and shoot them up whenver they get in rande.
