Want an enjoyable DST experience, even for newer players? Read on, we are recruiting!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.   I'm running a six slot server that is very fast and even players many thousands of miles away experience little to no lag.   We communicate on Discord (optional, but preferable).

Very large world, very few mods (just the basics, HUD, stats, geometric placement) and of course we have caves.    We welcome newer players and intermediate ones especially as advanced players tend to get bored due to a lack of real challenges.    The core of our group is myself and another player, we are very easy going and I don't run the server like a dictator, I try to make the experience as fun as possible for everyone.

We have 3 individual bases, you are welcome to set up your own or to team up with other new players.   We use a trading/bartering system which works very well (especially for newer players coming in) and will almost always provide a free essentials to get you started (if coming into a difficult season).    We team up on adventures all the time and agreeably share the spoils (last time it was a dice roll).

Any rules?   Not many, but here is a snapshot:

1.  No taking of items from private bases, an emergency can be a special situation but make sure to compensate the base owner later.   We are generous but on our own terms.  Any player that steals (honesty is extremely important in our world) or purposely damages bases/resources will be warned and/or kicked off.   We don't make a practice of rolling back worlds but there is one exception and that is when someone deliberately doesn't follow our basic rules.

2.  Respect private bases, don't lead giants or burning tree guards to them.   If you make a mistake and end up destroying a base you're responsible for helping build it back up

3.  Respect environments around private bases, some resources like beefalo can naturally be shared for fur and hound attacks but don't grab stuff around a base.   Early in our game I helped myself to a tier 2 spider nest without replacing it, I paid the owner back later.

4.  Have fun.   We play in a very relaxed atmosphere.

The trading model is a lot of fun, we have introduced many innovations such as Inns, weather forecasting, hiring for missions, etc.   Imagine you're in a cave near the ruins and you find a nice hotel to spend the night and be fed.   Payment?  Might be logs, silk, whatever is going in the market.

Server is up and if you're interested and want to start right away (like now) message me, my ID is aep039 on DST.    Come to our beautiful world, I'll give you the pass :).   We have 3 established bases but they are all in one gigantic biome, so 23 more are completely free (there is one in a birch nut forest that was abandoned.    We are looking for players that love the game and experience doesn't matter, just honesty and an effort to progress.

Thought I'd add some personal data on the players (in a gaming sense):

aep039 (me):   Addicted to stones (I'll sell you anything for stacks of stones), saffron feathers and ice.   Loves organized/clean bases.   A bit nervous on giant kills (but getting better), quite talkative.   Love helping new players.

cyclingbiscuit:  Low key, great at gathering resources and selling them to new players, very generous and compassionate.   Specialist in beefalo hunting, enjoys missions.    Base design is messy but functional.   Not very talkative.

warp:  Born killer, played solo over a thousand days in DST and destroys any giant with comparative ease.   Likes to be a team leader and direct operations, enjoys pursuing advanced items.    Abandoned base less than 25 days into the game, despite skills didn't provide too well for himself at the start.

laserunicorn (hope i got the name right):  Highly experienced at solo giant kills, advanced player who is very proficient, rarely talks.   Accomplishes a lot in short order.   Currently has only one mission left and then will quit our world.

luffy: Likes introducing unique design elements into bases, we don't see him very often.
