Bug Submission:

Category: Client Crash

Issue Title: Version Out of Date

Issue Description: Game loads but clicking play goes to

-> Logging In

-> Version Out of Date: A new version is available. Please update Don't Starve Together."

Checked version in files, showing version 161781. Installed game from steam 1/6/16 at around 10:00pm est.

Have tried re-installs and verifying game integrity multiple times.

Steps to Reproduce: Launch Game, Click Play.

I just bought the game not even 10 minutes ago so how can it be out of date?

Steps to Reproduce: Launch Game, Click Play, Verified Game Cache, Uninstall/Reinstall.

Hey guys @vicersi@Aratatarae,@rebel1231, welcome to the forums. I'm not experiencing the same issue as you guys, but while the devs haven't replied yet how about you guys try this first. Go into your game files under Steam\SteamApps\common\Don't Starve Together Beta\bin and delete the dontstarve_steam.exe file, and then verify the integrity of the game cache. Worth a try, report back if it works or not.

Srry for double post but i found some progress.

 

Browse local files, go into bin, right click the launcher then Properties and run in compatibility mode for windows 7. exit steam and relaunch

Thank you Aratatarae!! I just bought the game and tried playing last night with my brother and had the same issue. This fixed it. 

 

Frustrating that no official word fixed it but thanks again for the help.
