Sznyoky
Bug Submission: Category: General Issue Title: Networking Failed To Start Issue Description: I tryed to host a server and play with my girlfriend but I can't. I see servers, but I can't connect and I can't host it for ourselves. My first problem was "The server did not start properly." I reinstall all Drivers and now:"Networking Failed To Start" and I don't know why. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Verify the game cache 2. Reinstall all AMD/ATI software 3. Turn off the firewall 4. Set notebook mode on/off
Developer MarkL Posted January 21, 2015 Developer Share Posted January 21, 2015 Hey @Sznyoky, The problem is that your port is already in-use. From log.txt:[00:00:51]: Server failed to start![00:00:51]: Unhandled exception during server startup: RakNet UDP startup failed: SOCKET_PORT_ALREADY_IN_USE (5)Are you already running a server on your computer? If not then it might be from some other program sharing the same port we want to use! You can change the port you use in settings.ini (located in MyDocuments/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether/settings.ini). Look for the [networking] section (if that line does not exist, add it).Below [networking] add:server_port = 11002 The default port is 10999 right now, but we may change it because we are seeing people occasionally run into this issue. I will try to expose this error through the UI in the future.
Sznyoky
Hi,thanks for the reply, but it doesn't work for me.I added the line written into the port but the problem still exists.. Screenshot
Sznyoky
I think I found the cause of my problem. I can't run any server, because my firewall is block it. If I allow everything from the firewall (not secure) it works, but if I allow the port or anything else, it isn't running.. Here are my log files: Link
