Fixed

When Summoning maxwells shadow puppets I noticed that their nightmare fuel effect is red and the model is the skin that's equipped.

Summon maxwell puppets

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Same thing is happening to me too, it’s so jarring to see Maxwell clones instead of shadows lol.
