Hello,
I’d like to report a recurring performance issue that appears during split-screen play in Don’t Starve Together.
After several in-game days, the FPS starts to drop significantly, and the problem worsens as the base grows and the number of placed structures increases. Eventually, the performance drop becomes severe enough to noticeably hinder gameplay — even on smaller worlds, not only large ones.
I’ve already mentioned this issue in a previous post, but I decided to report it here as well so it could receive additional attention. It seems that the performance degradation is tied to world progression and player-built structures rather than the initial world size.
Could the team please look into this? Split-screen performance has a big impact on the enjoyment of local co-op play.
Thank you for your time and for your continued support of Don’t Starve Together!
Kind regards,
Arkadiusz
1. Start a new world and enable split-screen co-op.
2. Play for several in-game days while building a base and placing multiple structures (crock pots, chests, farms, etc.).
3. Observe that FPS begins to drop gradually after a few days of gameplay.
4. Continue expanding the base — performance continues to decline over time, regardless of world size.
