Save files losing progress after logging out

I'm playing on my PS4 version save file on the PS5 version. I had this save file before the PS5 upgrade was released.

Last night I defeated Crab king, brought the inactive celestial tribute all the way to the lunar island, built the Incomplete Experiment, and i remember logging out on the lunar island right after I built it to call it a day.

I logged back on today and when I spawned back in my world it set me back days before I fought Crab king. I have to kill crab king and do everything I just did all over again.

Edit: This just happened again on a different world and I lost about 8 days of progress. NO IDEA WHAT'S CAUSING IT :/ (v2.5 PS5) (12/26/25)

This happened to me once before on another PS4 save file I was playing on last week when I was trying to get the "not your momma" trophy. I was in the middle of hatching a tallbird egg, while doing so I looked up how long it took and found out it takes longer in DST so I decided to take a break from playing half way through because I was playing a lot and was tired. When I popped back in my world there was no tallbird egg to be seen, then I realized I was set back a couple days and had to get a new tallbird egg and try again.

Steps to Reproduce

(try on a high day count world)

Play for a few days

Exit to the menu

Wait for the save icon to disappear then close the application

Reopen the game and look if you were set back
