These past couple of days, my game has crashed three times when stepping foot on land after being on a boat.
1. Landing on Frostjaw’s island made the game crash. Upon restarting the game and reloading the save, I managed to get on the ice sheet and kill the boss.
2. After killing Frostjaw and sailing for a while, I went back to the mainland to dock. As soon as I step foot in the desiduous forest, the game crashed. When I reloaded the world, it put me back to being on the boat prior to killing Frostjaw. Had to redo the fight and manually upload my save on the cloud before I step foot on the mainland again.
3. The next irl day, I went sailing again to catch some fish and gather treasure chests. After gathering three treasures, I went back to the mainland and the game crashed. Upon reloading the save, it put me back several days earlier on the boat before I’d collected the treasure.
Note: Landing on Pearl’s island doesn’t cause a crash but being near her still does. I was also playing on the PS5 version with an imported PS4 save. Reported all crashes too.
Go sailing, do activities in the ocean for a few in-game days then land on Frostjaw’s island or the mainland.
A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
