Caves prevent friend from playing [PS5]

Me and my friend can play the game completely fine in the above world and I can go into the caves without problem, but he will be unable to load into them and will be unable to join the game again after the caves are generated. He gets stuck in a infinite loading screen and has to close out the game. We have tried him going in first but he still is put into an infinite loading screen and it'll say that he left the game for me after 2-3 minutes but he'll still just be in a loading screen. We have tried him hosting and both of us are able to load into the caves. (Have waited 10 minutes in the loading screen without change)

Steps to Reproduce

Generate new regular world and find a sink hole and go in, he then cannot load into the cave or join game after.

This sounds like a unique issue. Has he tried uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it?

I am on ps5. My and my friends have the exact same issue where anyone not the host of the world cannot go into caves without infinite loading screen. Have tried multiple hosts and worlds problem is consistently occurring.

I'm having the same issue but I THINK it's an internet related thing. I recently changed internet providers, but still have a few weeks left in my previous subscription. The new one has the EXACT same issues you have, but when I use my previous connection, I can connect to caves with absolutely no issue. 

I'm on PS4, by the way.

He just re-downloaded it before we started playing

It looks like this may be something to consider. How is your internet connection? Do you know what kind of up/down rates you are getting?
