Can't join friends after the patch from the 21st of May.

We cannot join each other after the update from the 21st of May.
After trying to join, we get this pop-up that is saying something like trying yo connect with the 5 dots blinking. After about a minute or so we simply get thrown back to the start screen to press start.

What we tried so far:

  • Friends only session
  • Password and no password
  • Public session 
    (^ all of these tried with 2 and up until 6 player slots)
  • Joining directly over the PlayStation menu
  • Going online and offline on PlayStation


A few things worth to mention:

  • We could join without any issues before the patch
  • We are both on PlayStation 5
  • We live in different countries (Germany and the US)

This is really frustrating. We just recently tried to get into the game and now a simple patch won't allow us to play at all anymore.
Maybe there is a way to revert the patch for us?
 

Steps to Reproduce
  • Be in the aforementioned countries (one in Germany, one in the USA) (I don't know if this really plays a role with this issue)
  • Start both games on the PlayStation 5
  • Have each other added as friend
  • Host a game
  • Try to join
  • Sad Dupe 2
  • Potato Cup 1
Go to bugs

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Is there no fix for this at all? Not even a rollback just for our clients or anything? I don't care if I can't update or anything. Just let me play with my partner and friends...

Having same problem with my friends but as i noticed me and one of my friends are us (R1) version of the game & we can play together but barely. but our other friends have R2 version of the game and we can not join each other like before and we couldn't play together since the last update.

Yes, we still have that issue. Throughout 2.96 and 2.97.
We do get invites but the invites don't give us the option to join, as shown in the photo I attached.

Joining manually in the browser results in the same connecting screen issue we were talking about and as shown in the video that Sparta craft sent here.

Yes

The invites no longer say "eu-us server" tho but they still say view in ps store

Browser doesn't work too

We've identified an issue preventing players in different Sony regions from joining each other. We'll get it fixed as soon as we can.
