2 player split screen losing saved character progress

When playing on the PS5 version, if we are to play split screen each time Player 2 joins and log in, it treats them as a brand new player who needs to accept the end user license agreement. This also means they restart as a new character when joining the game, losing any equipped items they had previously. We don't encounter this on the PS4 version

Steps to Reproduce

Start a local game with 2 players split screen. Play a bit. Close the game. Boots up the game. 2 player joins the game on the menu screen. Received end user license agreement and is treated as a brand new player who has to select character, essentially losing all progress

I’ve also experienced this; What I’ve found is if you close the game and switch to the second profile on the PlayStation, load and login to the game and then close it again and switch back to your primary profile it works for some reason…I’m not sure why it does this, it doesn’t happen every time but I’ve been dealing with this issue for awhile.

Hi there, I've been trying to reproduce this but haven't been able to yet. I have a couple of questions about your accounts that might help me narrow things down

- Are you playing in online or offline mode?

- Are both accounts PSN accounts, or is one/both local only?

- Is the game closed or running when the second player logs into the PS5?

I’m running into this issue as well.

- both players playing offline

- no playstation network account for either player

- it’s happened both when the player 2 is logging into their ps5 account while the game was closed and while the game was open.

Please look into this. I’m the player 2 and it’s devastating to lose all my gear and map.

This is still an issue.

In my situation, I'm playing with one account as a PSN account and the other is local. I can't tell if it's easy or hard to reproduce, but it happens extremely often and randomly and causes the second account to have to learn everything anew. What I think has to be done to reproduce:

- Open game on one account

- Close the game

- Switch to second user home

- Open any app and close it

- Return to first account home

- Open the game

I just tested it and the EULA aggreement opened every time. This also causes to have multiple identical "Friendliest Friends" Added image for info.17801619411645798398121457510425.jpg.18254ff1b83467496f2859818dfba1d7.jpg

I am player 2 on a ps4 console.back back in january we got an issue with save corruption of player 2. ONCE THIS OCCURS IT NEVER GOES AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  we have tried everything:
 - deleted all worlds
 - deleted and reinstalled the game
 - connected to psn with both players
 - connected to klei accounts with both players (not sure if player 1 has a fully active account, but she has unlocked characters and this player saves character progression just fine, only player 2 has this issue) I have merged the ps4 account with my steam klei account and subscribed to ps+, but it doesn't help
  - started to play as logged with both players  in multiple times after doing the other things

as player 2 I now do have access to the characters i have unlocked with steam, but my progression in our world still is not saved, all items i carry and talents are lost when we disconnect.
the issue seems to be that the game creates a new guest user every time i try to connect, instead of doing the sane thing of assuming that the player is the same as the last 2000 times. This guest user is made before logging in to PSN and checking for playstation+ subscription, but somehow i do get access to characters in the characterselection screen that i have unlocked with steam (wortex, wanda and wurt). there is a menu that pops up to load a backup player, but this menu is partially hidden behind the AULA and when accepted, this menu disappears so i can't use it, there is no way for player 2 to access settings or anything until I am in the game and the screen is splitt. at this point i can access settings, but any changes made are discarded with the guest user when disconnecting from the game server.

we dont mind starting over a few times, but not every time we play. trying to solve this has already cost us more than the game and we are sick of waiting for a fix which you obviously already think you have.
