visual bug linux

Similar to this bug on osx but on linux.

It occurs each time the research screen is closed.sometimes without any clear cause (happend once or twice since early access started) reloading fixes it.

Also, looking at player.log, the game doesn't seem to detect the full amount of video ram available. (256m listed while 4g is available)

Open research screen.
Close research screen.

There's probably something more to it than just linux, something specific to your computer. I haven't noticed any visual glitches like this yet.

Differences I noticed, you have an AMD renderer, while I'm using nvidia. It also looks like you're using mesa drivers on 3rd party. Which would make sense, since it appears your graphics are going through the APU on the CPU instead of a dedicated graphics card.

It appears that I'm on OpenGL 4.5 while you're on 4.3

It appears like the game is detecting 495MB of Video RAM, which would be stolen from your system RAM. Kind of curious how much system RAM you have set aside for your VRAM.

Your GPU doesn't support sparse Textures. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but it's something to be aware of considering the game specifically is checking.

I'm kind of curious if you're getting these same issues on the newest update still. First thing I would try would be to adjust the amount of system RAM and VRAM you have setup, giving the GPU more or verifying how much it has.
