  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Fixed

After launching a rocket with rover, the water planetoid was discovered unexpectedly.

This affects the order of planetoid list and shortcuts.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Enable debug mode and sandbox.

2. Build 5 rockets with dev auto build. (one rocket did not always reproduce?)

3. Add rover to the last one.

4. Launch the last rocket to the orbit of the home planetoid.

5. Wait the rocket disappear and save the game.

6. Load the save.

7. The water planetoid is discovered and its bottom is revealed.

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

This just happened to me as well in survival with a single rocket launched (with rover).  I've attached my save where the bug occurs.  The cycle 176 autosave from before the rocket was launched does NOT cause the discovery of the water planet.

The situation seems to occur when an in-flight rocket carrying rover is saved.

My guess is a bug in save/load. Something (lander?) was placed in the origin coordinate of the whole map during loading, which reveal the bottom left part of water planet. After rover is landed, saves seemed good.

Proposed workaround: Avoid loading saves with in-flight rockets carrying rover. However, this put extra constraints to players.

of space was probably when we fired the rocket; It also opens the top map section.

Would you test it?

Debug_tools:
Enable debug hotkeys, then press Ctrl-F to disable "Cluster FX", then Backspace to disable Fog-of-War. You can enable the free camera with Alt-S.
