The map of the Lava/Niobium Asteroid is located above the Nuclear/Radioactive Asteroid.
That means rockets that land on the Nuclear Asteroid spawn in on the upper edge of the map that is the Lava Asteroid. The rockets are just passing through all the blocks, without destroying anything or taking damage. However Radbolt engines are still leaving behind a trail of nuclear fallout puffs on their way down through the Lava Asteroid... Sometimes you can see the rocket passing through in the background. Sometimes you can only see the puffs of fallout, which will interact as usual with the Lava Asteroid environment in which they spawned.
While the nuclear fallout is not very radioactive atm, this will surely change at some point. More game breaking is that my Niobium Volcano set up on the Lava Asteroid is cooking the living quarter of my local caretaker. Poor fellow got cooked while sleeping.
1. Dig out a vacuum on Lava Asteroid, over the width of the whole map. (if it is only the top part, the fallout will quickly evaporate into space)
2. Land Radbolt Engine on middle/right side of the Nuclear Asteroid
3. Observe whole rocket or at least fallout puffs appearing in the vacuum of the Lava Asteroid
