Reproducible Crash To Desktop related to meteor showers

Dracian
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Fixed

Hi there !

It seems I have encountered a black hole during a completely random meteor shower that, in the first place, shouldn't even happen. More precisely :

- When loading the savefile attached (and pressing space), a meteor shower happens immediately (while being on cycle 1349, next one should happen on cycle 1351)

- In the meantime, in the spacemap, clicking on any meteor shower forecasted crashes the game.

I'm joining my savefile and the log of the CTD :

5. Crash happens

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Hi, further investigating this issue has revealed 2 different bugs, one of them is the crash on selecting the meteor shower on the star map, that one has been resolved and a fix is incoming, I will be now investigating another issue which is the meteor event starting before the meteor shower seen in the star map arrives to it destination.

Thanks for reporting, I will keep you informed when we find a solution for said second issue, meanwhile this thread will remain on Known Issue until the second bug has been resolved.

Changed Status to Fixed

A fix has been submitted, the fix however acts on a possible cause, unfortunately the meteor showers in the asteroids in your save are going to remain as you have them, and the ones in the star map will disappear on arrival, but new meteors after those ones should behave as expected. Let us know if you encounter this issue again after the hot fix has been released. Thanks!
