Radbolts exiting radbolt plate on load or hitting a tile create nuclear fallout

Knurek
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Pending

Game version: 642695
Spaced Out! + Frosty PP

After loading the game I've noticed nuclear fallout appearing at the exit of radbolt jointplate:

I've tested radbolts hitting a tile in the previous branch and in the current brach.

In the previous update (626616) no fallout gas when hitting tiles:

In the current update (642695) fallout gas is created:

I've also tested radbolt plates on load:

In the previous update (626616) some radbolts that were inside or coming into radbolt plates during saving are deleted on load:

In the current update (642695) some radbolts that were inside radbolt plates during saving are still deleted on load, and some are turning into nuclear fallout by hitting the plate like it was some other tile (not sure if they could hit it in the previous update):

There is no mention of changes to the radbolts in the patch notes of 642695 update.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Load attached save files
2. Unpause the game
3. Save the game while radbolts are inside or coming into the radplates
4. Load saved game and unpause

Rad Test (626616).sav Plate Test start (626616).sav Plate Test load after save (642695).sav

Player (main save 642695).log Player (rad test 626616).log Player (rad test 642695).log Player (plate test 626616).log Player (plate test 642695).log

User Feedback

Radbolts were meant to produce fallout on impact. If they didn't, I would assume it was either because of bad performance issues or a bug. If now they produce fallout on impact, then I would assume that is intended

Sorry if it sounded all as assumptions. I meant that producing fallout after a radbolt hits a tile, is not a bug. It produces fallout after hitting any object actually but fallout usually turns into liquid immediately because usually you wouldn't have radbolts in vacuum. In several previous updates that was not very consistent and it could sometimes miss the chance to produce fallout after hitting certain tiles.

Clearly not before this update. As I wrote there's no mention of any changes to the radbolts in the patch notes, so please.. Let the developers speak for themselves.

Oh this is cool. Bug or not, If the tiles in question don't lose mass that could simplify some contraptions
