The receiver of a Radbolt Joint Plate cannot be build over Drywall. It stays open to space though as I just found when I finally tracked down a long-term air leak in my base. Once the Radbold Joint Plate is built, it is possible to place drywall under the receiver and make the whole building closed to space.
