New Game Doesn't start on OS X Bug

Similar to the pinned thread but prior to the big merge update, the game ran great. 

Machine Specs:

MacBook Air - M1 8GB, 8 core GPU model if that matters

I know I'm running arm but the game ran well enough in rosetta with only one visual bug which goes away after about a half hour of playtime. Here's the log from the crash screen, along with the message attached. I tried reinstalling but that just made steam recognize that it hadn't started without restarting the app. I haven't read anything about apple silicon support being added with this update but this seems to indicate one is running in a native binary. Let me know if there's any more info I can attach, I'd love to get back to playing on the only machine I have access to at the moment.

I included the player.log as required but it doesn't seem to have been written to during this crash

Try the game on an arm mac ig?
