New Game Crash

I read and read fixes and this worked for me.
uninstalled the game from steam > went into %appdata% deleted everything > went into steam folder and deleted oxygennotincluded folder > installed the game > launched the game and disabled DLC > started new game without DLC > reactivated DLC and started new game > got into game.

I did this because I was willing to lose all my previous game data

I took a look at your Player.log file and it mentioned OneDrive permission issues. Something to look into if this happens again in the future. Glad you got it working!

Changed Status to Closed

Check if your antivirus is blocking access to some folders. I was with Avast and its anti-ransomware shield was keeping open the PNG files in the save folder, which caused the game to crash during save.

 

Once the folder was excluded in Avast, the issue was gone.
