Multiple duples seem to deadlock on a single task

  • Branch: Live Branch Version: OSX Pending

I've got a 2200 cycle game on a DLC map with 20 dupes where a lot of errands suddenly stopped getting done. After looking through it seems that quite a few of the duples (6 or more) keep just staning in random locations doing nothing. Most commonly in their own bedrooms after shift change. They are not idle. When I check, they each have a good list of "next up" errands. And like I say the result is a lot of errands not getting done.

But that's where it gets a bit stranger. When I click through them, it seems they all / most all are on exactly the same errand. It's almost like some kind of locking / deadlocking issue.

I've tried:

  • Save and re-load
  • Turning off / on location proximity
  • Resetting all priorities.

Note that this problem persists after each sleep cycle. Sometimes one or two will kick themselves out of it, and then suddenly go back into the same state standing somewhere else (occasionally under water or in CO2). It doesn't kill them. When they run out of breth, they run to find oxygen and then just stand there breathing until food / bedtime.

Steps to Reproduce

Not sure I can find an easy way to reproduce. I can offer the saved game if necessary.

User Feedback

So while they often seemt to all get stuck on a legitimate erand (eg: all the stuck ones are on the same erand to the cook on the electric grill). Sometimes they all just get stuck on an errand "Test Text"

Eg: all three dupes in this screenshot are stuck on the same thing:

Based on the Power Supply To Hydrogen generator task, likely culprit is the issue currently with partial microchips, but attaching save would help identify further. "Test Text" almost always means an asymmetry between the expectation of being able to complete a chore and the actual ability to complete a chore resulting in a failure-retry loop.
